Deulofeu enjoyed an impressive season on loan at Goodison Park in the 2013/14 season, and the Liverpool Echo claims that he is keen on securing a return to Everton next season, to kickstart his stuttering career.
The Barcelona winger played 29 games for Everton, scoring four goals and registering five assists, and impressing all who watched him. He returned to Camp Nou last summer, before heading out on another loan deal to La Liga rivals Sevilla.
However, whilst that spell has been more productive, many feel the 21-year-old has taken a step back in his progression. 28 games brought a return of three goals and 10 assists, but he has not featured as much as he wanted, and he looks further away from making an impact at Barca.
The once-capped Spanish international is aware of this, and the report claims that he is pushing for a move away from Catalonia, with suggestions that he could be available with Barca willing to listen to offers.
The Toffees are sure to be keen on bringing him back to Merseyside this summer, and Deulofeu is reportedly keen on the move back to Goodison Park having enjoyed his time under Roberto Martinez.
Whilst that move could be on the cards, it is also claimed that Everton have cooled their interest in Deulofeu’s Barcelona teammate Adama Traore, having shown a long-term interest in him.
A poor second half to the season has seen Martinez lose faith in the young winger, and it is likely that no move will now be made to secure him this summer.
