Reported Celtic transfer target Zakaria Bakkali has been quoted by the Glasgow Evening Times suggesting he’s close to a move to his next club.
The Bhoys are thought to be one of the teams monitoring the PSV Eindhoven teenager, who would address a hole Celtic arguably have out wide down either side of their midfield.
However, he’s highlighted the significant interest in signing him, which shows what Celtic manager Ronny Deila has been up against if he’s been actively working on a deal.
“I have deliberately said nothing until now. I currently have 13 offers, but I wanted to go to a country where there was a big league. My choice is 95 per cent confirmed,” he said.
Deila does not seem like the sort of manager who would allow himself or the club he represents to be pushed around in the transfer market.
If Celtic are active in talks to sign him, Deila will stress a simple message which is based around Celtic’s core values and the likely challenges the player will have as he looks to secure regular game time at Parkhead.
If Celtic miss out on the PSV star, they will move on and focus on another player who could arguably be better suited to the club.
