HITC Sport understands from sources close to the club that Premier League new boys Norwich City have enquired as to the possible availability of Plymouth Argyle youngster Ben Purrington.
The left-back has been impressing at Plymouth since breaking into the first-team 18 months ago.
A number of Premier League and Championship clubs have been tracking his progress since he broke into the senior set-up with the Pilgrims.
Purrington made 14 appearances last season and was nominated for the League Two Apprentice of the Year award.
The 19-year-old saw this season hampered by a wrist injury as he made nine appearances to help Plymouth reach the League Two play-off semi -finals.
Purrington is only tied down to Plymouth for another year and the club are bracing themselves for offers for the talented full-back.
Norwich are hoping to steal a march on their rivals after making an enquiry about the youngster, as they look to lure him to Carrow Road and build for life back in the big time following their Championship play-off final success.
