Ian Wright: What Arsenal need to become Premier League champions

Arsenal legend Ian Wright has suggested what Arsene Wenger needs to do as the Gunners chase the league title next season.

Arsenal legend Ian Wright has been quoted by the London Evening Standard suggesting there is a very simple change Arsene Wenger needs to make to push the Gunners closer to the Premier League title.

It doesn’t relate to a player who may come in, with Wright suggesting that the key rests with the winning mentality that Wenger can drill into his players.

“I think everyone in the Premier League are far away from Chelsea. When Arsenal get things right on the day they hammer teams,” he said.

“They need to fit players in with a winning mentality. It’s the Premier League they have to be going for.”

Chelsea were a very good example last season of how to get results regardless of whether they were playing good football.

They had a determination to win and they managed to get the job done, regardless of how attractive they were to watch in the process.

Wright is correct to point out that when the Gunners are in full flow and they play well, there are few better teams in the Premier League in terms of securing emphatic results.

The FA Cup final last weekend showed what the side is capable of, as they defeated Premier League opposition in Aston Villa with ease.

Arsenal have been meandering along with ease for years as a team capable of comfortably getting into the Premier League’s top four.

It’s now time for Wenger to work hard on getting the team to believe that they could be champions once again.
