Why Tottenham must pull out all the stops to sign Andriy Yarmolenko

A player who would be perfect for Tottenham Hotspur has indicated he will move on this summer.

According to a report from ESPN, alleged Tottenham Hotspur target Andriy Yarmolenko has set his sights on a summer exit from his current club Dynamo Kiev.

The 25-year-old was speaking to Pro Futbol when he said, “I think that right now is the perfect time to change clubs. The president knows that I want to leave. I have repeatedly spoken about this.”

So what are Tottenham waiting for? Because quite simply signing Yarmolenko could be the best piece of business Spurs chairman Daniel Levy does in quite some time.

Tottenham need more fire-power and more creativity and their alleged target possesses both in abundance.

At 25 he is the perfect age to move on, old enough to not be too much of a risk and young enough to improve further, while his versatility cannot be ignored.

While predominantly a right winger, the Ukraine international can also play on the opposite flank or as a secondary striker and his ability in front of goal is sure to have attracted the attention of Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino.

After all, Yarmolenko has scored 19 goals and provided 21 assists in 42 matches this season, while he has a total of 95 goals and 64 assists in 260 games for Dynamo.

That he has spent his entire career at one club means there will be a risk in bringing him to England, but considering his current deal expires next summer he should not cost too much and would add some real sparkle to Tottenham’s side.
