Reported Tottenham Hotspur transfer target Jackson Martinez has been told he can leave Porto, according to his quotes in the Daily Mirror.
Martinez has been on Tottenham's radar for some time, per the Daily Star, and it seems that he could be on the way out of his current club very soon.
The Colombian international is currently heading to the Copa America, but says that after the international tournament has finished his focus will be on the future.
"Now I'm focused on the Colombian national team, but obviously waiting to know what will be my future, because I already received permission from Porto to leave," he said.
Tottenham are likely to face competition for Martinez's signature, if they do make a bid, as the striker has been in such fine form.
The jet-heeled front-man has scored 28 goals in 38 matches this season and appears to have the ability to be a threat at any level.
Porto would be unlikely to let him to leave on the cheap, meaning that Tottenham will have to spend a considerable sum if they are to land him.
If Martinez did come to White Hart Lane he would enhance the quality of their attacking options considerably, though, and he is the sort of calibre of player that the club should be targeting if they harbour ambitions of breaking into the Premier League’s top-four next season.
