Report: West Ham narrow managerial shortlist to four names

West Ham United have narrowed the options in their hunt for a new manager.

The Brentwood Gazette has reported that West Ham United have narrowed their shortlist to decide the club’s next manager down to just four names.

The Hammers have been on the hunt for a new boss ever since they announced that they would not be offering a new deal to Sam Allardyce.

The paper suggests Slaven Bilic, Marcelo Bielsa, Unai Emery and Frank De Boer are the realistic options for the Hammers as the club decides who is best placed to take the club forward and up the Premier League table.

Bilic would be the popular choice because of his West Ham roots and he will understand the importance of the connection with the club’s fans.

Bilic is also a very proactive manager who has always encouraged his teams to play a pure brand of football regardless of how difficult the circumstances may be.

De Boer would also be a very popular appointment because of his recent history in terms of developing younger players, which will be vital for West Ham over the next couple of seasons as they look to strengthen their identity.

It will be fascinating to see which way the club’s board goes.
