French source L’Equipe has reported that Tottenham Hotspur are willing to let midfielder Benjamin Stambouli leave the club for as little as €5 million.
French giants Marseille are thought to be keen on a move and the site’s report suggests that they have already made an offer to Tottenham for his services.
Stambouli has struggled to get his teeth into life at White Hart Lane following a move from Montpellier and could be one of the players manager Mauricio Pochettino allows to leave.
The Daily Mail has reported that Marseille have been trying to get a loan deal secured for the holding midfielder, but Tottenham are thought to have made it clear they are looking for a permanent sale.
That would free up squad space and wages for Pochettino, who will likely already been working on ideas over the best way to develop Tottenham’s midfield throughout the summer.
The stumbling block to Marseille paying the fee, which fits into their budget, according to L’Equipe is a determination from the player and his representatives for him to stay in the Premier League.
