Southampton want to secure Javier Hernandez as part of any deal which takes Morgan Schneiderlin to Manchester United, according to the Daily Star.
Schneiderlin has emerged as a transfer target for United in recent weeks and it is thought that Louis van Gaal's side could lodge an offer in the near future.
Southampton are loathed to lose the French international, but they know of his desire to play in the Champions League and realise that it will be tough keeping him for another season.
As a result, the Saints will reportedly accept offers of around £25 million or a deal which would bring Hernandez to St. Mary's.
Southampton are keen on the Mexican forward, as they feel he could enhance their attacking ranks considerably and soften the blow of losing one of their key players.
The South Coast club are on the look-out for a striker over the summer and Hernandez was reportedly on their wish-list before United decided to attempt to buy Schneiderlin.
For Hernandez to move to Southampton, they are reliant on Real Madrid not opting to buy him.
Madrid have had Hernandez on loan all season and the La Liga side have an option to make that deal a permanent one.
