Real Madrid will make a bid of £45 million for Liverpool winger Raheem Sterling, according to The Sun.
It has been reported by the British tabloid that talks will open between the two clubs over the transfer of the youngster in the next fortnight.
Madrid supremo Jose Angel Sanchez will speak to Liverpool executive Ian Ayre in order to settle on a deal.
Price too steep
Over the years, Spanish club Madrid have spent big money to sign top players, but splashing out £45m for Sterling seems strange.
True, the England international is one of the best young footballers in Europe, but he is far from a player who is worth that much.
Madrid have a talented and strong team, and Sterling will not be guaranteed a place in the starting line-up.
This makes it even strange that the 2014 Champions League winners are willing to spend £45m for the 20-year-old.
