Lazio are interested in signing Fabio Borini from Liverpool in the summer transfer window, according to talkSPORT.
It has been reported that the striker has been informed that he has no future at Anfield, and that Lazio are expected to reach a deal in the coming weeks.
Borini has been on the books of Liverpool since 2012, but his time at Anfield has been a huge disappointment.
The 24-year-old has fallen down the pecking order at Anfield, and finds himself behind Daniel Sturridge, Mario Balotelli and Rickie Lambert at the moment.
The Italy international scored one goal and created eight chances in 12 Premier League appearances in the recently concluded 2014-15 season.
Borini had a pass accuracy of 76% and a shot accuracy of 38%, and won four headers, three dribbles and one tackles.
Lazio finished third in Serie A this season and have qualified for the playoff round of the 2015-16 Champions League campaign.
This means that if Borini moves to the Rome-based club this summer, then he could feature in Europe’s premier club competition next season.
Borini’s current contract with Liverpool runs until June 2017, according to Transfermarkt.co.uk.
