The Spanish giants had been linked with a move for the want-away Liverpool star, but Balague has rubbished that suggestion.
The Sun recently claimed that the Spanish giants, who parted with manager Carlo Ancelotti last week, were about to make a £45 million offer for the youngster.
The paper claimed that the two clubs would meet over the next fortnight to thrash out a deal for the want-away England star, who has appeared to hint at an Anfield exit in recent weeks.
Balague though, has rubbished any ideas about a move, suggesting that Sterling’s agent, who has come in for much criticism of late, is more interested in Madrid than the club is interested in his client.
Real Madrid have got no interest whatsoever in Sterling. I imagine Sterling/agent might be interested in Real Madrid though.— Guillem Balague (@GuillemBalague) June 2, 2015
A potential move for Sterling always seemed like a strange one given Madrid’s current team, with the player unlikely to ever replace the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo, Gareth Bale, Isco or James Rodriguez in their stellar line up.
Sterling though, looks set to be the transfer story of the summer at this moment in time, with a number of clubs being linked to him. After this development though, we may be able to rule out Real Madrid as a potential suitor.
