People News: RBS, Bank of America

Scott Eichel, the global head of asset-backed products and credit trading for Royal Bank of Scotland's investment bank, has left unit.

Bloomberg News reports that Michael Geller, a spokesman for RBS at Edelman, confirmed the departure. Eichel declined to comment when reached by telephone.

He joined RBS in 2008 from Bear Stearns Cos., bringing with him 14 other individuals who worked in securitized products at that firm, according to a statement at the time. Bear Stearns was being bought by JPMorgan in a rescue deal facilitated by the Federal Reserve.

In the meantime, Reuters reports that Bank of America has hired Brad Hutchinson from Barclays to co-head its Americas energy investment banking business alongside Oscar Brown, according to an internal memo seen by Reuters.

Brown and Hutchinson worked together for over a decade at Lehman Brothers and Barclays before Brown moved to Bank of America in 2010.
