Former Arsenal midfielder Ray Parlour has praised the team spirit and unity of his old team.
Parlour was impressed with the energy and team spirit as his old side made it two FA Cups in as many years, with an emphatic victory against Tim Sherwood’s Aston Villa.
He says Arsene Wenger and the team have to build on that togetherness as they look to progress over the course of next season.
“It was a great performance – I’ve never seen a squad so together – Before they had a few problems with players not getting on with other players, but they have to get on with each other – They’ve got to build on that now,” said Parlour.
Arsenal have arguably been the best team to watch over the last couple of months and it bodes well ahead of the summer.
The togetherness is important because it makes the team that little bit more determined heading into difficult matches across all competitions.
The victory away against Manchester City in the Premier League and the win against Manchester United in the FA Cup are two good examples where Arsenal did well as a collective unit to secure some important wins for the team.
There’s not much wrong with the Gunners as Wenger considers what needs to change to put his team a step closer to the Premier League title.
The right additions this summer in terms of the personality of the players coming in will strengthen the team spirit which is already in place.
If Wenger can ensure the fractions of the past, in terms of friction between players, don’t repeat themselves, Arsenal are going to be a serious force next year.
