One of Tottenham Hotspur's bright young talents has been speaking about their recent tour.
Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Nabil Bentelab has been speaking to the club’s official website following his side’s post-season tour of Malaysia and Australia.
Tottenham first defeated a Malaysia All-Stars side 2-1 in Kuala Lumpur before making it back-to-back wins with a 1-0 triumph against Sydney FC a few days later.
And now Bentaleb, who played in both matches, has been speaking about what the end-of-season tour meant to him.
“We know how big the club is but it really hits home when you go to the other end of the world and you see there are so many people supporting us,” the Algeria international said. “It really opens your eyes, to be honest.”
Bentaleb has enjoyed a wonderful campaign in the heart of Tottenham’s midfield, making 35 appearances in all competitions and scoring one goal and providing three assists in the process.
The 20-year-old showed glimpses of what he is capable of last season under former Spurs boss Tim Sherwood, but this campaign has seen him become an integral part of Mauricio Pochettino's side and it will be interesting to see who he is playing alongside next season.
Whatever happens, Tottenham have found a gem who should only get better in the years to come.
