Motherwell have announced on their official website that they have offered reported Celtic and Leeds United target Lee Erwin a new contract.
The 21-year-old forward’s current contract with the Scottish Premiership outfit runs out at the end of the month, but he has been given the opportunity to sign a new deal.
Erwin has risen through Motherwell’s ranks, and he now has the chance to continue playing for the club.
The youngster suggested earlier this week that he will remain at Fir Park, telling BT Sport after his side’s Scottish Premiership playoff final win against Rangers: “Although I supported Rangers as a young boy, Motherwell are the team for me and I (am happy that I) could keep them where they belong.”
Erwin has been one of the better players for Motherwell in the recently concluded 2014-15 Premiership campaign, and has attracted interest from both Celtic and Leeds United.
Meanwhile, The Scottish Sun claimed last month that Celtic have an eye on the young Scot.
Now that Motherwell have offered Erwin a new deal, it is up to the player to decide on his future.
