Liverpool fans react on Twitter to reported James Milner deal

Courtois, Matić & Milner - Chelsea v Man City

The majority of the Anfield faithful believe that signing the Manchester City midfielder is good business.

The Guardian have today instigated that Liverpool have all but won the race to sign Manchester City’s James Milner and will conclude a deal for the England international this week.

The 29-year-old is out of contract at the Etihad Stadium and as such is a free agent this summer and able to sign for other teams.

Although the report states that Arsenal were also interested in the versatile midfielder, Milner has seemingly opted for a switch to the Merseyside club.

Liverpool are widely expected to undergo a summer revamp after missing out on the Champions League for next season, with midfield an area that needs to be strengthened due to Steven Gerrard’s departure.

With Milner ready to join, the Anfield faithful have reacted on Twitter to the news of the club’s first summer signing.

Most of the Reds fans have welcomed the midfielder as a piece of positive business, with his work ethic and the fact he is available for free standing out.

However, others remain unconvinced and feel that the Reds would be better advised in redirecting their efforts elsewhere.
