Departing Newcastle United defender Ryan Taylor has taken to social networking site Twitter to send an emotional message to the fans.
The 30-year-old, who can play as a defender as well as a midfielder, will leave Newcastle at the end of the month after being told that he will not be offered a new contract.
Taylor, who moved to the Magpies from Wigan Athletic in 2009, has now taken to Twitter to send a heartfelt farewell message to the supporters.
A huge thankyou to all the NUFC fans for your support through the good times & the bad times. I had an amazing 6 1/2 years I'll never....— Ryan Taylor (@TaylorR1984) June 1, 2015
Forget my time there. The fans make the club an it was an honour to have put the black & white shirt on. I wish you success in the future— Ryan Taylor (@TaylorR1984) June 1, 2015
Newcastle narrowly avoided relegated from the Premier League in the recently concluded 2014-15 season.
Heading into the final day of the campaign, the Magpies were in danger of going down to the Championship.
However, a 2-0 win against West Ham United at St. James’ Park secured their survival in the English top flight.
Newcastle will now hope to fare better in the 2015-16 campaign and probably push for a top-10 finish in the Premier League.
