Celtic's newest arrival has been speaking about a recently departed Bhoys star.
The 24-year-old signed a four-year contract with the Bhoys this week, becoming manager Ronny Deila’s first signing of what is likely to be a busy summer. And now he has revealed what his former City teammate – and recent Celtic loanee – John Guidetti told him about his latest club.
“John Guidetti told me it was a great club and told me the fans are unbelievable,” Boyata said.
The Swedish international’s own spell at Celtic was one of mixed fortunes, with Guidetti enjoying a wonderful start but barely featuring in the final few months of the campaign. Yet despite that it is clear the club and its supporters made a big impression on him.
Boyata also spoke about following in the footsteps of his former City teammate Jason Denayer, who enjoyed a temporary stint of his own at Celtic last season.
It is the hole left by his countryman’s departure that Boyata has been brought in to fill and he aims to have a big impact.
“I would like a similar season as he had,” the new Celtic signing said and if that happens his new fans are likely to take to him very quickly.
