The Manchester United youngster was involved as Brazil started the U-20 World Cup with a bang.

Old Trafford wonder kid Andreas Pereira featured for the Brazilian Under-20 side's opening game with Nigeria on Monday, in the Youth World Cup being held in New Zealand.

The Manchester United youngster played the first half for the South American side, before coming off at the break with the score stuck at 2-2.

Tottenham youth Musa Yahaya set up and scored Nigeria's goals, but he was unable to have the same influence in the second period.

The change in personnel worked for Brazil, and two efforts the Nigeria goalkeeper should have kept out saw them win the second half 2-0, ensuring the game finished at 4-2.

19-year-old Pereira took to Twitter to celebrate the result after the game, with the Belgian born midfielder and his teammates now favourites to qualify from a group which also contains Hungary and North Korea.

Pereira will be hoping to retain his spot in the Brazilian starting line-up given the strong performance after he left the pitch, having made his Manchester United debut earlier in the season during the club's 3-0 win over Tottenham.
