Manchester City starlet Kelechi Iheanacho: I want to be the best footballer in the world

Highly-rated Manchester City attacker Kelechi Iheanacho believes he can become one of the best footballers on the planet.

Ambitious attacker Kelechi Iheanacho has told FIFA TV, as quoted by thisdaylive, that he wants to keep progressing and become one of the best footballers in the world.

The Manchester City starlet, who is currently starring for Nigeria in the FIFA U20 World Cup, has set his bar high as he looks to make a big impact at the Etihad as early as next season.

‘’I hope to continue to progress in my career and one day be the best player in the world,’’ said Iheanacho. ‘’I hope God will help me achieve this. That’s my dream.’’

He added, when asked what the U20 World Cup could do for his club career: ‘’This is a perfect opportunity to show Manchester City what I am capable of, especially because I was injured for a couple of months.

‘’I will work hard to make my club and country proud.’’

What can City fans expect of Iheanacho in the years to come?

The 18-year-old is clearly not shy of boasting about his potential and has big plans for his future.

He has a huge reputation in Nigeria, where he is seen as the Super Eagles’ golden boy, and his impact in Manchester has recently started to catch the attention of supporters.

After missing a lot of the season through injury, the youngster made the headlines when he played an instrumental part in the 3-1 victory over Manchester United under-21s on the last game of the season, in which he scored twice.

Pellegrini has an interesting dilemma regarding the starlet now as he could either promote him to the first team or allow him out on loan to gain first team experience.

He has a big future ahead of him, as long as he keeps his feet on the ground, and could look to play a huge role in City’s side for years to come.
