Out of contract on 30th June, Algerian star Feghouli has been offered a four-year deal to stay at the Mestalla.
Their place in the Champions League secured for next season, at Valencia, attention now turns to squad planning for next season, as the club prepares to compete in the elite European competition, whilst also aiming to continue their push to become serious contenders in La Liga.
Along with new additions, the club are keen to keep hold of key players who have helped the team compete so well during the recently concluded season. Amongst them, 25-year-old Sofiane Feghouli, who has produced impressive performances throughout the campaign, but is out of contract on 30th June.
Back in March, English outlets such as the Daily Star, claimed that Tottenham Hotspur had the Algerian international featuring highly on their summer shopping list. With the potential of being available on a free transfer, he certainly looked an excellent option.
However, if any approach is planned by Mauricio Pochettino, it now looks set to be met with a disappointing outcome, as far as Spurs, or indeed anyone else are concerned.
According to Valencian sports newspaper Super Deporte, Feghouli is just days away from penning a new four-year deal with Valencia, thus ending any further speculation about his future.
The player and his agent are said to be content with the terms offered, with remaining negotiations on the right track, meaning that Feghouli looks set to be one of the first of several players, to agree new terms with Valencia over the coming weeks.
During the 2014-15 campaign Feghouli made 33 appearances, contributing six goals and six assists, as he helped his team secure their 4th position finish in La Liga.
