French forward Gael Kakuta finally appears to have found a real home for his talents, after a stellar season of performances with Rayo Vallecano in La Liga.
Having dazzled in Spain during the 2014-15 campaign with the modest Madrid based club, the displays of the 23-year-old haven't gone unnoticed by the opposing clubs he's faced, many of whom have made enquiries to Chelsea about his availability for next season.
According to Estadio Deportivo, amongst the many La Liga sides interested, it's Sevilla who have won the race with a four-year contract offer accepted by the player. All that is now pending, is the Europa League champions reaching a satisfactory agreement with his club, Chelsea.
Sevilla sporting director Monchi has monitored the progress of Kakuta for several years, but it's only now the real opportunity to finally secure the services of a player he clearly admires, has at last become a reality.
Of particular interest to Sevilla, is that Kakuta is flexible positionally and is capable of playing on both flanks, or in the middle. which he's demonstrate more than well enough with Rayo.
The threat he's regularly posed to La Liga defences throughout the recently concluded season, enough to convince Monchi and Sevilla, now is the right time to move, with a deal expected to be concluded over the coming days.
Undoubtedly, the opportunity to join a club who will compete in the Champions League next season, and on a permanent basis, will be music to the ears of Kakuta.
Sevilla have been keen to conclude business swiftly, particularly given La Liga rivals Valencia were tipped to make a move, but having already seemingly had a firm agreement from the player, they can now finalise the deal with Chelsea.
