Report: Sunderland to bid for Wolves star Danny Batth

Sunderland Stadium of Light

Sunderland have their eyes on Wolverhampton Wanderers defender Danny Batth and will reportedly make a bid in the near future.

Wolverhampton Wanderers are braced for a bid from Sunderland for their prized defender Danny Batth, according to the Daily Mail.

Sunderland are on the lookout for defensive additions and they seem to believe that Batth would be a good signing.

The 24-year-old has been a rock at the heart of Wolves' defence throughout the campaign and his displays have apparently impressed the Black Cats' scouts.

With Wes Brown set to retire, per the Chronicle, Sunderland know that they need to freshen up their backline this summer and Batth could be the first of a number of additions.

Sunderland are determined to strengthen to ensure that they are not dragged into another relegation battle.

If Batth did join, he would add steel and resilience to the Wearsiders' defence, but Wolves will be reluctant to lose the powerful defender.

Kenny Jackett has built a strong squad at Molineux and they will be hoping to keep their key players together as they go for promotion next season.
