Report: Liverpool showing ‘tentative interest’ in West Ham United target Stephane Mbia

Former Queens Park Rangers midfielder Stephane Mbia is reportedly being targeted by Premier League rivals West Ham United and Liverpool.

West Ham United and Liverpool are interested in signing Stephane Mbia in the summer transfer window, according to The Daily Mail.

Mbia is on the books of Sevilla at the moment, but he will leave the Spanish outfit at the end of the month.

This means that signing him will not cost any transfer fee, and it has been reported that Premier League rivals West Ham and Liverpool are interested in his services.

The 29-year-old defensive midfielder has played in England before, with Queens Park Rangers.

It has been reported by The Daily Mail that Mbia is “keen to return to the Premier League”, with Liverpool showing “tentative interest” in him.

The Cameroon international midfielder has been playing for Sevilla since 2013 and has won the Europa League twice in a row.

The former Marseille star scored four goals and created six chances in 23 La Liga appearances in the recently concluded 2014-15 season.

Mbia had a pass accuracy of 81% and a shot accuracy of 37%, and he won 50 headers, five dribbles and 23 tackles.
