Everton are close to signing Scott Dann from Crystal Palace, according to a report in the Daily Mirror.
The Toffees are determined to make additions to their squad this summer and they apparently feel that Dann would be an excellent buy.
The Eagles centre-back has impressed at the heart of Palace's defence this campaign and he could be brought in to add competition at Goodison Park.
Everton's lack of depth at centre-back has cost them this campaign, but they would have three good options in the position if Dann were to join.
Dann would join Phil Jagielka and John Stones at Everton, with the trio expected to battle it out for two spots in the team.
If Palace did lose Dann at such an early stage of the summer it would be a blow to the London club, who have made ambitious plans for next season.
Alan Pardew's side want to break into the top-half of the Premier League table, but they will struggle to do that if they are not able to keep hold of their best players.
