Rangers fans on Twitter split over Stuart McCall's future after Motherwell thrashing

Rangers fans are split over Stuart McCall's future at the club.

Rangers' hopes of promotion to the Scottish Premiership ended on Sunday after a 3-0 loss at Fir Park against Motherwell, who won the tie 6-1 on aggregate.

Much of the damage was done in the first leg after Motherwell's 3-1 win at Ibrox, and a second half capitulation on Sunday gave Rangers no chance of a win.

Goals from Marvin Johnson, Lionel Ainsworth and John Sutton handed Ian Baraclough's men a comfortable win, keeping Motherwell in the top flight and resigning Rangers to another season in the Championship after being outclassed over two legs.

Now, the attention will turn to the future of manager Stuart McCall, whose contract will expire this summer despite having only arrived in March.

McCall took over amid chaos following the resignations of Ally McCoist and Kenny McDowall, getting Rangers back on track before a play-off campaign which saw the club miss out at the final hurdle.

However, it always seemed like McCall was handed the reins on a temporary basis and would only remain in charge if he got Rangers promoted - which he hasn't achieved.

Rangers fans were discussing McCall's future on Twitter after the defeat to Motherwell, and there is certainly a split between supporters who believe he should be given time to build his own team and those who think that Rangers should look in a different direction...
