Nottingham Forest’s Jamie Paterson seems to be a fan of Arsenal’s Mesut Ozil

Mesut Ozil’s performance for Arsenal against Aston Villa in the FA Cup on Saturday impressed Nottingham Forest winger Jamie Paterson.

Nottingham Forest winger Jamie Paterson has suggested on social networking site Twitter that he is a fan of Arsenal attacking midfielder Mesut Ozil.

Paterson made the comment during the FA Cup final between Arsenal and Aston Villa at London’s Wembley Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

Germany international Ozil was superb in the 4-0 win, leading the 23-year-old former Walsall star to sing his praises on Twitter.

Ozil is one of the best players in the world, but he has not had the best of times since his move to Arsenal from Real Madrid in the summer of 2013.

The former Werder Bremen star has often been deployed on the wing by manager Arsene Wenger.

The 26-year-old’s performances when played out of position have been disappointing at times, but against Villa on Saturday evening he was brilliant.

Ozil gave a gave a good account of himself in the FA Cup final and was sublime with his passes; his work rate was also admirable.

The German struggled to make an impact in the opening weeks of the recently concluded 2014-15 campaign, but he played an important role after his comeback from injury.

The former Madrid star scored four goals and created 70 chances in 22 Premier League appearances, while having a pass accuracy of 88% and a shot accuracy of 54%.
