Aston Villa are expected to make a number of changes over the summer.
Villa's season ended with a 4-0 defeat to Arsenal in the FA Cup final on Saturday, but that disappointment has not been enough to dampen the optimism building around the club.
The Claret and Blues have improved considerably under Tim Sherwood's stewardship, and Okore is looking forward to seeing how much the squad changes over the summer.
“This is a really big summer for Aston Villa – Tim is going to come in with his own plans, his own ideas and his own players, so it will be exciting to see what it will look like next season," he said.
“Hopefully we can get out of the relegation battle we have been in over the past few years, become a mid-table team and develop from there.
“I won’t be happy if we struggle again – I hope we can do some good investment (in the squad) and help the team to succeed."
Villa are expected to freshen up their squad this summer, with Sherwood desperate to make some alterations to the team.
The Midlands side have the core of a strong squad, but they still need to add some quality if they are to get into the top-half of the table.
Villa's deficiencies in a number of areas have been shown up this term and Sherwood will be looking to rectify the faults in his team over the coming months.
By doing so, competition for places at Villa Park is likely to increase, but Okore is clearly not fazed by the prospect of rivals looking to take his place at centre-back.
