The Belgian ace has really come into his own under new boss Tim Sherwood, scoring 12 goals in his last 14 appearances in all competitions and helping Villa preserve their Premier League status.
Such has been his form, Premier League champions Chelsea and rivals Liverpool have been accredited with a strong interest in his services, as per a report in the Express.
However, the Gunners’ well-documented need for a new striker plus the allure of Champions League football would make a deal to the Emirates an extremely promising proposition.
Benteke’s ability to back up his strength and power with wonderful technique means he is very much the complete striker, a factor Redknapp believes makes him perfect for the Gunners.
“If Wenger can bring in three or four new players in the off-season, they will really be in business. I cannot think of anyone who could do a better job for them than Villa’s Christian Benteke,” he wrote.
“Put him in a team with Cazorla and Ozil and the rest of those players and I reckon he’d score goals for fun — a bit like Diego Costa at Chelsea.
“Villa know they are going to struggle to keep him and if I was in Benteke’s shoes I’d look at the guys who were pulling the strings for Arsenal and say: ‘Yes please, I want some of that.”

As per the table provided by Opta Stats, Villa’s Benteke and French international Olivier Giroud have posted similar results in a number of key attacking categories.
While Giroud betters Benteke in goals scored and assists, the former Genk ace comes out on top in the average number of shots, key passes, aerial duels and touches per Premier League fixture.
Moreover, what’s more impressive is Benteke has largely been starved of chances as goal-shy Villa endured a horrible first six months of the campaign under former boss Paul Lambert.
