Dedryck Boyata is reportedly set to leave Manchester City for Celtic, while Rangers fail to get promoted to the Scottish Premiership.

Celtic are close to signing Manchester City defender Dedryck Boyata, according to BBC Sport.

It has been reported that the 24-year-old flew into Glasgow on Sunday and will complete a deal later today.

Scottish Premiership champions Celtic will reportedly pay Premier League giants City a transfer fee of around £1.5m for the services of Boyata, who will become the Bhoys’ first summer signing.

The Belgium international will arrive as a replacement for compatriot Jason Denayer, who was on loan at Celtic from City for the recently concluded 2014-15 season.

Meanwhile, Celtic striker Leigh Griffiths has made a post of just emoticons to sum up his opinion of Rangers defender Bilel Mohsni.

Mohsni was at the centre of an ugly brawl towards the end of the Premiership playoff final second leg between Motherwell and Rangers at Fir Park on Sunday afternoon.

The Tunisian was pushed by Lee Erwin and responded by aiming a kick and punch at the Motherwell striker, before tussling with Fraser Kerr.

Rangers lost the second leg 3-0 and the playoff final 6-1 on aggregate, which means that they will remain in the Scottish Championship for the 2015-16 season.
