The Sassuolo striker is also a target for Juventus.
In recent months Tottenham Hotspur have been heavily linked with the signature of emerging Italian striker Simone Zaza. The Sassuolo striker was linked with the move by The Express back in January, with a reported fee of £11 million mooted.
Tottenham are looking for striker options to help take some of the pressure off Harry Kane. The England international has been banging in the goals all season but Emmanuel Adebayor and Roberto Soldado have offered little in reserve.
However, Juventus are also keen on the player. They can buy him back this summer, after originally bringing him in back in 2013, for a fee reported by Gianluca Di Marzio to be in the region of €15 million.
It is widely expected that will be the case and Zaza will head to Turin. The player himself is remining tight-lipped for now. He is quoted by Tutto Mercato Web as stating:
"I do not know and I do not want to think about it, they are talks that will be addressed next week. Only the idea of going away from here makes me sad.
"I will always thank this company and all the people of Sassuolo, I'm sure I'll find an environment so not anywhere else. I know that Juventus want me, however I always said I would go away from Sassuolo only for a great team. The interest makes me proud."
It will be interesting to see how this story develops. Zaza, who has scored 10 goals in 36 games this season, is a great option for Tottenham's striking department but a move to Juventus will be hard to resist for the Italian.
Time will tell where he ends up.
