St James Park

Newcastle United striker Papiss Cisse is reportedly on the radar of Spanish club Sevilla.

Sevilla are interested in signing Papiss Cisse from Newcastle United in the summer transfer window, according to The Sun.

It has been reported by the British tabloid that the Spanish club want to recruit the striker as a replacement for Carlos Bacca, who is allegedly on the radar of Tottenham Hotspur (click here to read more).

Cisse has been on the books of Premier League outfit Newcastle since 2012 and has a contract which runs until June 2017, according to Transfermarkt.co.uk.

The Senegal international striker is one of the better players in the current Magpies squad, and the lure of playing Champions League football could be enough to convince him to switch to Sevilla.

Sevilla finished fifth in La Liga in the recently concluded 2014-15 campaign, but they will feature in Europe’s premier club competition next season due to their Europa League triumph.

Cisse, 29, scored 11 goals and created six chances in 22 Premier League appearances this season, and had a pass accuracy of 78% and a shot accuracy of 58%.
