The Argentina international has admitted he would trade places with his Barcelona team-mate due to the pressure.

Lionel Messi continues to show his supreme ability and was the inspiration behind Barcelona’s Copa del Rey final victory over Athletic Bilbao yesterday.

The Argentina international scored twice to confirm the Blaugrana’s cup success, with the Catalan powerhouses now only one game away from completing a memorable treble.

Despite most players being only able to dream of having Messi’s ability, Javier Mascherano has stated that he wouldn’t trade places with his countryman.

The former Liverpool midfielder stated that Messi’s ability to deliver consistently is the difference behind him and the rest of the footballing world.

"I wouldn't trade places with him," Mascherano told Canal Plus.

"You have to be a very special type of person to bear the burden of proving every three days, every game, that you're the best in the world."

Messi is widely regarded as the frontrunner for the 2015 Ballon d’Or award, with the South American playing like a man with a point to prove this year.

To complete an unbelievable campaign, Messi and Barcelona will face Juventus in the Champions League final next weekend in Berlin.

The Argentina international has formed a formidable attacking trident with Luis Suarez and Neymar this season, with the superstar trio ready to take on the defensive-focussed Serie A side next Saturday.
