Gary Lineker makes an amusing remark about Aston Villa and Paul Lambert

Aston Villa suffered a 4-0 defeat to Arsenal in the final of the FA Cup at London’s Wembley Stadium on Saturday evening.

Tottenham Hotspur legend Gary Lineker has taken to social networking Twitter to make an amusing remark regarding Aston Villa’s defeat to Arsenal in the final of the FA Cup on Saturday evening.

The Villans suffered a heavy 4-0 defeat at London’s Wembley Stadium, thanks to goals from Theo Walcott, Alexis Sanchez, Per Mertesacker and Olivier Giroud.

Arsenal were in control of the game from start to finish and deservedly won the final by such a big margin.

Over the course of the 90 minutes, Arsene Wenger’s side had 58% of the possession, took 16 shots of which nine were on target and earned eight corners.

In contrast, Tim Sherwood’s Villa had 42% of the possession, took just two shots of which neither was on target and did not earn a single corner.

Former Tottenham striker Lineker was following the match, and he made a rather amusing comment about Villa.

Paul Lambert was sacked as the Villa manager in February following a run of poor results which saw the team drop into the Premier League relegation zone.

The Villans went 10 league games without a win, but Sherwood steadied the ship and made sure that the club hang onto their Premier League status for one more season at least.

The former Tottenham boss revitalised a number of players, including Christian Benteke, and led Villa to the final of the FA Cup.
