Newcastle defender Remie Streete will be released this summer, the club have announced.
Newcastle United have confirmed on their official website that defender Remie Streete will leave the club at the end of his contract this summer.
Already, Newcastle have confirmed that Jonas Gutierrez and Ryan Taylor will leave the club, whilst four more players won't be staying at St. James' Park.
Newcastle announced on the club's official website that goalkeeper Jak Alnwick and striker Adam Campbell won't have their contracts extended when they expire this summer, whilst loan striker Facundo Ferreyra will return to Shakhtar Donetsk having failed to even make his debut for the Magpies despite arriving last summer.
The other name on the list of players leaving Tyneside is that of young defender Streete, who is currently out on loan at Rangers.
The 20-year-old joined Rangers in February along with Newcastle team-mates Kevin Mbabu, Gael Bigirimana, Shane Ferguson and Haris Vuckic - but hasn't had a successful spell in Glasgow.
In almost four months at Ibrox, Streete has played just once - and that came against Raith Rovers all the way back in February, and even then he only lasted 44 minutes before going off injured.
Now, Streete - who also spent time on loan at Port Vale earlier this season - is on his way out of Newcastle for good as they have decided not to extend his contract.
A stay at Rangers certainly doesn't look likely after a tough loan spell, leaving the centre back to become a free agent this summer as he looks for a new club.
