The Belgian has ended up with a pretty impressive season in his first campaign since signing permanently from Chelsea last summer.
Romelu Lukaku has finished the season as the joint-top scorer in the Europa League. The Everton star scored an excellent 8 goals in 9 European games to put him level with three other forwards in the scoring charts, as Lucianno Vietto, Alan and Branimir Hrgota all netted the same amount.
He impressed in a loan spell at Goodison Park in the 2013-14 campaign, netting 16 times in 33 games. It was enough to see Roberto Martinez shell out a club record £28 million for the striker, according to BBC's reporting of the transfer, at the end of that season in order to ensure the Belgium international wouldn't be impressing elsewhere.
However, there were a few dry periods across the season, and unsurprisingly, some were questioning the size of that transfer fee.
But in fact, Lukaku has been one of the top scorers in the English top flight this season, taking into account games across all competitions.
Though he only managed 10 goals in the Premier League, his grand total of 20 in 48 games was only bettered by four players, with Sergio Aguero, Harry Kane, Alexis Sanchez and Diego Costa all netting more than the Belgian.
It means it's hard to point to the 22-year-old as a disappointing signing, even if he did struggle at times in the league.
With the Blues set to miss out on Europa League football next season, don't be surprised if Lukaku brings a little more of his goalscoring form back to the domestic stage.
