The 29-year-old bore the brunt of the Villa faithful's criticism after their 4-0 defeat to Arsenal.
Memorable victories against West Brom, Liverpool and more set up the showpiece event for Villa - but, after such a capitulation, some supporters can't be blamed if they would have preferred the traditional 'play a weakened team, get knocked out early' approach.
Still, where Aston Villa's cup run as a whole can't be discredited, their failure to show up in the final deserves lambasting. And their fans have done exactly that - especially with Charles N'Zogbia.
The 29-year-old was at fault for Arsenal's first goal against Tim Sherwood's side and supporters wanted him substituted a lot earlier than he eventually was. Such was his display, fans are even talking about wanting N'Zogbia to leave Villa Park this summer. Although that looks as though it has been an ongoing discussion among supporters.
While Arsenal fans celebrated the Gunners defending their FA Cup trophy, then, the Aston Villa faithful were busy choosing where their anger should be directed. And plenty of it went towards N'Zogbia on Twitter. Here's a selection of it...
Hope this now means bye to Vlaar and N'Zogbia. Major overhaul required, but we know that wont happen, no cash once again #avfc— Stay Golden (@stay_classy187) May 30, 2015
You see Sanchez and n'zogbia playing the same roles, and you realise why they're two up #avfc— Michael Morrow (@MichaelMorrow93) May 30, 2015
Could have done with N'Zogbia off a bit earlier. Anonymous today on the big stage. Here's hoping, praying Agbonlahor is the catalyst. #AVFC— Ian Hunt (@ChicagoCornish) May 30, 2015
