West Ham linked former Leeds United star Max Gradel admits Premier League is his 'desire'

The Ivorian has been in great form recently, scoring 13 goals in his last 13 games.

Max Gradel is certainly looking like being a wanted man this summer. After being linked with a return to former loan club AFC Bournemouth yesterday he has now found himself linked with West Ham United.

It was reported by But! Football Club in France that West Ham were also keen on the former Leeds United player.

Now he has confirmed he wants an England return from Saint-Etienne. The Ivorian is quoted by London24 as telling L'Equipe:

“I want to play in big competitions and push further.

“I will sit down at the table with St Étienne representatives to discuss and see if they harbour even greater ambitions for next season.

“Then I will take my decision. England welcome me, adopted me, made me feel confident and allowed me to realise my dream of becoming a professional footballer. This country is my heart’s desire. That is no secret.”

Gradel remains something of a fan favourite at Leeds United. During his time at Elland Road he played 85 games, scoring 25 times and became popular with fans with his exciting displays for the club and they would love to have him back.

But his form means a move to the Championship is unlikely.

He is all set to head to the Premier League after scoring 13 goals in 13 games for the club since returning from Africa Cup of Nations duty.

West Ham and Bournemouth will now be very pleased to hear these comments from the former Leeds man, who seems destined for a return to England this summer.
