Interest in Aymen Abdennour
Tottenham Hotspur are interested in signing Aymen Abdennour from AS Monaco in the summer transfer window, the defender’s agent has told FootMercato.
Abdennour was one of the best players in the recently concluded 2014-15 Ligue 1 campaign, helping Monaco finish second.
The 25-year-old Tunisia international created three chances in 18 league appearances, while having a pass accuracy of 84% and shot accuracy of 100%.
The centre-back won 40 headers, three dribbles and 20 tackles in those 18 Ligue 1 matches.
Abdennour’s agent, Abdelkader Jilani, has now revealed that Tottenham have made an offer for the highly-rated centre-back - and so have a whole host of clubs, including Inter Milan and Newcastle United.
"Given the season that Aymen had, there is interest from all over the world,” Abdennour’s agent told FootMercato, as translated by The Express. “We have received calls from clubs and sporting directors, but for now nothing (has been decided).
“Clubs like Valencia, Newcastle, Tottenham, Inter Milan and Wolfsburg have called. We have received concrete offers from these teams, and they are really interested in Aymen.”
Benjamin Stambouli to leave?
According to France Football, negotiations between Marseille and Tottenham have been going on over the transfer of Benjamin Stambouli.
The 24-year-old defensive midfielder could make only 12 Premier League appearances for the North London club, creating three chances and having a pass accuracy of 84% in the process.
It has now been reported by France Football that Marseille want to sign Frenchman in the summer transfer window.
The Ligue 1 club want to recruit Stambouli on loan, but Tottenham want to sell him, according to the report.
