According to the Liverpool Echo, Everton are the favourite to land the highly-rated Moses Odubajo despite interest from Premier League rivals Tottenham Hotspur.
The report states the 21-year-old has previously attracted interest from Tottenham in the past, but the Toffees are now the favourites for his signature after a successful first season with the Bees.
The England under-20 international scored three and created five goals for Brentford this season, as they finished in the Championship’s top six, and was desperately unlucky not to help his team progress into the Premier League.
Would Odubajo be a good signing for Everton or Spurs?
The 21-year-old is an impressive player, who can play in a lot of different positions.
Although usually considered as a midfielder, the former Leyton Orient star has played the majority of his football for Brentford at right back and has earned the plaudits for his performances.
According to whoscored.com, he has appeared 34 times at right back for Brentford this season, 11 times in right midfield and even once as an attacking winger – a trait that will stand him in good stead if he is to join a Premier League side.
At his age, he still has a lot to learn and can progress even further so it Roberto Martinez will be desperate not to miss out on a player who could be a potential star of the future.
The versatility alone will make a valuable asset from any Premier League side and could offer him a good amount of game time even if he isn't to be a regular starter.
