Everton are likely to make a number of additions over the coming months.
Everton are expected to be active in the transfer market, as they look to strengthen their squad, and Martinez says that he has already pieced together plans for the summer window.
The Spanish boss has quickly identified which players he would like to bring to Goodison Park and is now hoping that the club can finalise the deals.
“I think it is an important summer. It becomes about recruitment and that’s the priority," he said. "I think we are very clear in what we need. We have found the players that we want and it becomes a process about trying to make those targets a possibility and make them Everton players. We are very excited about the future."
Everton were disappointing this season, with the Merseyside outfit failing to make it into the top half of the Premier League table, and they realise that there is a need for added quality.
Although the Toffees have the core of a very strong squad, there have been some weaknesses exposed in 2014/15 and Martinez will want to rectify that this summer.
The addition of another striker will be key, while Everton are also likely to be on the lookout for at least two defenders.
Martinez is under pressure to make the right additions this summer, as if things go wrong again for him next term, he could well lose his job.
