Stoke City are interested in signing Jonathan Calleri from Boca Juniors, according to a report in the Daily Mail.
Calleri has been in fine form for the Argentine side all season, and Stoke's scouts are said to have been impressed by his displays.
The 21-year-old has scored eight goals in 26 appearances this season and is regarded as one of the finest young talents in South America.
It means that there has been a lot of interest shown in his services, with the likes of Arsenal and Inter Milan both also reported to be keen on signing the striker.
Stoke have not been put off by the high-profile sides chasing Calleri, though, and are apparently willing to pay the £5 million asking price that Boca are demanding.
If Calleri does join the Potters it will be further indication of the progression that Mark Hughes' side have made over recent years.
Stoke are making huge strides forward and they are now showing great ambition in the transfer market, meaning that this summer could be an exciting one for fans of the Britannia Stadium club.
