Mauricio Pochettino: What Tottenham must do to make it into the Champions League

Tottenham Hotspur head coach Mauricio Pochettino is aiming to help his side qualify for the Champions League.

Tottenham Hotspur head coach Mauricio Pochettino has identified what the club need to do to break into the Premier League’s top-four during a question and answer session on the Lilywhites' official Facebook page.

Spurs supporters were offered the chance to grill Pochettino on a range of issues on the social media site and one of the issues up for discussion was how he plans to get the side into the Champions League.

Tottenham have been looking to claim a top-four spot for some time now and Pochettino has a clear vision on what needs to improve in order to hit that target.

"We need to create a good environment and the right mentality in the squad," the Argentine boss said. "It is important that we improve our consistency and sign players with the right profile to give balance to the team, that is the key."

Spurs finished this season in fifth place, but they were still some way off making it into the Champions League.

The north London outfit were unable to find the consistency required to break into the top-four and will be hoping to make big strides forward over the summer to enable them to put together a more impressive campaign next season.

Crucial to this will be keeping hold of their key players and Tottenham fans will be relieved to hear that this is part of both Daniel Levy's and Pochettino's plans.

With Harry Kane currently being linked to Manchester United in the Daily Mail, concerns had emerged regarding a potential exit for the striker in the near future.

However, Pochettino and Levy were adamant in suggesting that the England international would be staying, with both giving a simple 'yes' answer when asked whether he would be at White Hart Lane next term.
