Former Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson and ex-Sweden manager Lars Lagerback were among a panel that voted the Tottenham man's goal the very best.
Much has been made of the fee that brought Erik Lamela to Tottenham two summers ago, but the odd flash of ability have indicated why he could flourish into a special talent - and none more so than his Rabona goal earlier this season.
Uefa have recognised the Tottenham man's magnificent effort during the group stages by awarding it this season's best Europa League goal on the organisation's website, with the club already acknowledging the strike as Spurs' best this year.
Lamela slowly moved into some decent form at the end of the season, helping Spurs to the necessary points to snatch fifth spot from a stuttering Liverpool.
But undoubtedly his moment of the season, if not his career so far, was the ridiculous flick that put Tottenham 2-0 up against Asteras Tripolis in October.
The ball came to the Argentine from the right, and the 23-year-old flicked his left foot behind his right heel to curl the ball beyond the visiting goalkeeper.
It was the first goal in a much improved season for the former Roma man, who ended up with a respectable 5 strikes and 10 assists across 46 games.
