Hull fans react on Twitter as six players including McShane are released

The departure of Tigers favourite McShane is proving hard to swallow for supporters.

Hull City's relegation to the Championship has meant the end of the road for several first team players at the KC Stadium.

And many fans were somewhat disappointed at one or more of the departures, taking to Twitter to express their opinions.

Steve Bruce confirmed on the club's website that six players would be released when their contracts expired in June, among them long serving duo Paul McShane and Liam Rosenior.

The Irishman's departure was particularly controversial given his cult status at the KC Stadium.

Yannick Sagbo, Steve Harper, Maynor Figueroa and Joe Dudgeon are also leaving the Tigers, as the Hull manager makes necessary adjustments to both the playing staff and the wage budgets in preparation for a first time promotion back to the Premier League.

Bruce also revealed that his son Alex Bruce and Stephen Quinn have been offered new deals.

Between the players, there are over 300 appearances over what could go down as some of the club's best ever moments, taking into account last season's FA Cup final and the Tigers' maiden European adventure.
