The former Leeds man has taken to social media in reflection.
Ahead of another summer of guaranteed uncertainly at Leeds United, it always helps to reflect on better times. That sentiment applies to every club.
And that's exactly what former United defender Jim Beglin has done, taking to Twitter to reflect on the 'incredible' 1989/90 season at Elland Road. It was his first with the Yorkshire side after signing from Shamrock Rovers and the year the Whites won the Second Division on goal difference.
What Leeds wouldn't give for a similar scenario this season, of course!
89/90 was incredible. Leeds, Leeds, Leeds! https://t.co/RW7v3CwpXZ— Jim Beglin (@jimbeglin) May 29, 2015
For me the 1989/90 season is remembered more than our 1991/92 success.Which was your best Retweet 1989/90 Fav 1991/92 pic.twitter.com/gVnTthH9bY— LEEDS UTD MEMORIES (@MartinMarty1974) May 29, 2015
Leeds have enjoyed plenty of historic seasons - even in recent times - but 1989/90 clearly stands out in the memory for many.
Looking back on it this summer is poignant as the Yorkshire side could no doubt do with another season to remember to boost morale at the club. Even a failed promotion push would bring hope to United after another campaign consigned to the bottom half of the Championship table last time out.
Is new boss Uwe Rosler the man to deliver success for Leeds, however, and will he be allowed to operate chaos-free...?
