Following the conclusion of the Premier League season, we take a look at the stats behind Marcos Rojo's debut campaign.

Marcos Rojo has been a considered a Manchester United success story since securing a £16million move (per the BBC) from Sporting Lisbon last summer. 

Off the back of an impressive World Cup campaign with Argentina, the 24-year-old became Louis van Gaal's third signing of the summer. 

Below is a round-up of some of the more significant figures and stats the Argentine defender has recorded over the course of his debut season in England.

Marcos Rojo made 22 appearances during his first season in the Premier League, during which he featured 20 times as a first-team starter. 

The 25-year-old won 2.59 headed duels per appearance; the third best average total of any player at Manchester United. 

He managed 36 successful tackles throughout the season; averaging just over 1.6 challenges per game. 

Rojo fashioned 10 key passes in his debut season. Luke Shaw was the only Red Devils defender to have created more (14). 

He managed 12 attempts at goal, but is still yet to score for Manchester United. 

In total, he found success in seven of his nine attempted take ons - 78%.

The Argentine completed 85% of his total attempted passes; the worst completion rate of any central defender at the club. 

Having made 205 defensive actions over the course of the season, only Phil Jones (251) and Chris Smalling (237) found themselves more involved at the back. 

The Argentine centre-back made four defensive errors in total; the joint-highest total at the club, alongside Jonny Evans. 

Rojo collected a club-high six yellow cards in his 22 appearances, level with Ander Herrera, who played more games.
