Newcastle United suffered more than any other club in a specific area last season.
The Magpies secured their Premier League survival on the final day of the season last weekend and the table produced by the website makes the achievement all the more remarkable for the St James’s Park club.
The table is determined based on points awarded to clubs who have players out of action each week; one point per player per week.
Newcastle struggled to keep players fit in key areas and during key spells of the season and the team deserve some credit for getting the job done and scrambling over the line.
It’s now the job of John Carver, or whoever is appointed to replace him, to invest well in the transfer market to make sure that there are extra squad options when the injuries pile up.
If Newcastle can ensure they have good quality and strength in depth, they should give themselves a better chance of being consistent through difficult periods next season as they look to consolidate in the top half of the Premier League table.
