Wigan Athletic are hoping to sign Max Power after Tranmere Rovers' relegation to the Conference, according to the Daily Mail.
Power has impressed in Tranmere's side this season and, with his contract expiring, Wigan are apparently keen to pounce.
The Mail claims that the Latics are willing to pay £500,000 to snap Power up and they are hoping to complete a deal in the near future.
Their chances of signing Power could be limited, though, as Wigan are not the only side who would like to buy the midfielder.
Celtic have also maintained an interest in Power and according to the Daily Mail they could be set to make a bid soon.
If they do, they could jump to the head of the queue as the allure of Champions League football could tempt Power to Parkhead over a League One promotion battle.
Power scored 13 goals for Tranmere last season in England's fourth tier and the hope is that he would be capable of impressing at a higher level in the future.
